National Arbor Day Celebration in Nigeria

In commemoration of Arbor Day 2021, the U.S. Consulate General partnered with T.R.E.E. Initiative to discuss our advocacy in Nigeria and share ideas on how the U.S. Consulate Community can support greening initiatives.

T.R.E.E. Initiative Executive Director, 'Sola Kolawole and volunteers were at the GQ in Lagos at the instance of the Consulate General of the United States of America on Friday 30th April, 2021 for the tree planting event.

The program included also symbolic tree planting and presentations on the importance of planting and protecting trees in Nigeria.

Arbor Day presents another opportunity for T.R.E.E. Initiative to push further the advocacy for the declaration of a National Tree Planting day in Nigeria.

Governments, Envoys and Embassies in Nigeria can take a cue from the U.S. Consulate by supporting local greening initiatives pulling Climate Actions for both climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Plant a tree today!
