T.R.E.E. Project Reaches out to Communities

TREE Project team recently went on a site assessment of some communities in Oyo State.

Interactive meetings were held with leaders in these communities. This is a continuous engagement approach.

The team also visited Ajorosun LCDA to exchange ideas with the Chairman on mitigating the effects of Climate Change. He made a case for the adoption of the concept of Urban Afforestation particularly for communities on the urban fringe. We will collaborate extensively in this area.

This advocacy initiative intends to address deforestation via sustainable collaboration between T.R.E.E. Project, communities, and policy makers. To fill the existing advocacy gap, we have to mobilize communities to adopt voluntary tree planting and reforestation as a culture to protect their environment.
